Forum of Young Alaskans
What is the Forum of Young Alaskans?
The Forum of Young Alaskans was an event leading up to the 2009 Conference of Young Alaskans which invited all young people, ages 16-25, to be a part of a revolutionary statewide dialogue.
On October 4, 2008, young Alaskans, from large and small communities across the state convened to discuss, debate, and delve into the issues that are important to all of us as Alaska’s future. The Forum of Young Alaskans was designed to reach young people from across the varied geographical regions of the state and to provide them with an opportunity to share experiences and knowledge with others.
Groups of young Alaskans met simultaneously in Anchorage, Juneau, Fairbanks, Bethel, Dillingham, Valdez and other communities across the state to discuss the issues facing Alaskans and the challenges we will face.
