Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions – COYA coordinators and steering committee members are ready with answers to any questions you might have. In the meantime, we’ve spent some time answering ones we think might get asked. General questions can be sent to coya@institutenorth.org or call Nils Andreassen at 907 771-2448.

A: Because of the generous support of COYA sponsors, travel and lodging is covered for all 55 delegates.  If you are selected to participate, we will work with you to arrange your travel and other logistics.

Q: I’m a young Alaskan, I’m just not between 16-25. How can I participate?

A: We need many volunteers to help ensure the Conference is a success and we would certainly appreciate your help. Please contact us and we can find a creative way for you to participate.

Q: Will delegates from the 2006 and 2009 COYA be invited to participate?

A: All Alaskans between the ages of 16-25 are invited to participate and the prior delegates will be invited and complete the same application process as everyone else. No preference will be given for participation in past Conferences.
